If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up people together to collect wood and
don’t assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless
immensity of the sea – Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Earth Child Institute is committed to combating climate change, deforestation and water scarcity

by investing in hands-on environment and educational projects with and for children, both in and out of schools. Our goal is to engage with and support empowerment of the world’s 2.2 billion people under the age of 18 to plant trees, ensure access to safe water, sanitation, clean energy and nutritious food. Creating new and participatory solutions for community based sustainable development will reduce risk and increasing resilience to the changing global environment.

Clean Water for ChildrenWhat makes us different?

ECI is about teaching people how to plant and care for a tree and understand what the tree has to do with our lives through applied knowledge as opposed to bringing them to the forest to look around as if to visit a museum. We facilitate intergenerational dialogue, providing tools and supporting structures for both children and adults, helping to develop skills, a collective sense of personal responsibility and connectedness to be able to adapt to changing circumstances. To help to instill the self-confidence necessary to think fast on our feet… to solve problems… to take chances and to understand the interdependence of all living things on planet Earth.

Yes! We will meet our goal to plant 2.2 billion trees and help to provide safe water for every child…
but only with your help… and with the help of every child. Every body counts!!! and every drop
matters!!!
